This slideshow contains some terrific and powerful images of the RMS Titanic. In an introduction to Walter Lord's book "A Night to Remember", Nathaniel Philbrick suggests that reading such a work begs the reader to ask himself "What would I have done?" This is not an easy question obviously. Were there points in the book where you found yourself asking this question, and if so, what do you think you would have done? Explain.
Glad to see you're keeping the blog alive! I thought you did a fantastic job with it last year, and I'm eager to see how the boys do responding to it this year (especially the ones I had in my class that should theoretically be used to posting). I hope Will is loving being in the same building as you this year.
Hi class. I'm in Dr. Strange's educational media class at the University of South Alabama. I enjoyed scrolling through the list of intriguing videos on your blog. History can really be brought back to life through film. I think pictures and video, when available, can be invaluable in order to appreciate historical events, as well as to engage us into the nuances of their story. They stick in our memory also. I know if I were taking a history class, a blog like this would very much benefit my learning. You guys keep up the good work. History class can be intense with its wealth and breadth of information, but get into it as much as you can. You'll utilize your historical perspective throughout your life. Best wishes - Laurin Karadimos http://karadimosledm310fall2009.blogspot.com/
