The Watergate Scandal (1972-1974)

The Washington Post (online edition) has a very good series of web pages on the Watergate scandal. View the information at: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/watergate/index.html

I was wondering, what did Gordon Lidy have to do with the watergate scandal, I know he was involved, and that he was put in jail on contengency longer than anyone in the U.S.

The Watergate Scandal, in my opinion, was the dumbest thing a presidnent has ever done. The nation was horrifiied and wanted to impeach NIxon while they had the chance. Instead he resighned.

It makes me angry that the president and other authority can think that they are above the law. I am glad that Nixon's crimes were discovered.

It really astonishes me about how a president of a country, where he was elected, would cheat and steal from his own nation. It shows how hectic those times were, if our nation didnt even have the sense to elect an honest, trustworthy man.
