Combat Cameraman Norm Hatch


Mr. Hatch filmed the fighting at Tarawa in 1943. Take a look at the photo he sent to Mr. Steed and St. Christopher's (on the right).

That footage was so amazing I had to watch it twice. I think it's amazing that he was able to survive and have his footage shown. I never knew there was actual footage of battles.

It must have been pretty scary to be on the front lines of a battle just to take pictures.

i also didnt know that they had camera men during the battles. i had always thought they came after. also i thought camera and doctor people wore specific clothing that notified the enemys that they wer doctors and camera men not soldiers and that they shouldn't shoot.
