The Christmas Truce of 1914
This photostory covers the Christmas Truce of 1914. The song is called "Christmas in the Trenches." If you listen to the lyrics all the way through (and view the accompanying images), you will have a pretty good sense of what happened that winter. I am always fascinated by stories like this one. I think that "The Christmas Truce of 1914" show people that even though there was a dreaded war going on that both sides can put aside their differences for just on day and come together and celebrate the true meaning of christmas

I agree with that comment. This video is very good because it can show how enemies can be friends. Even thought the war was important, they could forget about that and have a good time celebrating Christmas. I'm sure a lot of soldiers loved this but then some might not have agreed to it. Maybe some were too concentrated by killing the other men than to take a break and be a good man for the day. This truce was a great idea in my mind.

This was a very inspirational moment in World War I history. If you want more detail, I highly recommend "Joyeux Noel." This movie is made about what exactly happened and is very good. I once again, highly recommend it.
