The Doolittle Raid (1942)

This clip gives a brief glimpse of the Doolittle Raid when American B-25 Mitchell bombers attacked the Japanese mainland. What made this raid so amazing is that the bombers were launched from the decks of an aircraft carrier. This also includes segments of an interview with General James Doolittle himself.

It's really amazing how the planes could lift off from 500 feet of airstrip. And how he made it so the planes could make it to China after bombing Japan. I really like the way he modified the planes.

Good video. It is interesting to see how much the leaders felt about getting bombed without relizing that it was coming.

It is so exciting to see that so many people gathered around the capital to here Churchill anounce V-E Day in Europe. People were crying with happiness and joy that we have finally beaten the Nazis.
